Meet Alan Bibby and Marc Smith, two ordinary Kiwi hipsters doing big things halfway around the world in New York City.
Mr Bibby has co-created and directed music videos for some of the world's biggest stars, including Coldplay, Rihanna, Pharrell, Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande.

Mr Smith, meanwhile, was the visual effects genius behind feature films Zero Days and We Steal Secrets, as well major projects for brands like Converse and Microsoft.
Now they're back on New Zealand shores to share their ideas at Semi-Permanent, an event considered the equivalent of Coachella for creatives, entrepreneurs and future-thinkers.
They spoke to The Project about success, creativity and how they coincidentally ended up in the same creative agency in New York 20 years after meeting at design school.
