Police in Waihi had to chase down a suspect of the animal kind on the weekend when a rather large boar was found trotting down the main street of Waihi.
Luckily KFC staff nearby had the right idea to lure the estimated 150kg pig, providing police with hot chips and bread rolls.
The finger-licking-good food worked a treat - police managed to entice the pig and stop it running wild down the main streets.

Waihi police Constable Harley North told Gold FM they initially had no idea where the pig came from, but it probably was an escaped pet.
They put the pig in the local church in a makeshift pen until the owner came forward.
On Tuesday the missing boar was seen being walked down the main street of Waihi by a tall, dark stranger.
