A cold snap brought snow and freezing temperatures to parts of the South Island on Monday - weather that could cause a headache for farmers, but provide relief for ski fields.
For one couple, it provided the backdrop for a true white wedding. The pair flew in from Hong Kong especially for their wedding photos - a dream come true to wake up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground.
"We've never experienced it snowing, so it's a really good day for us to take amazing photos," groom Tony Poon said.

The cold snap made its way up the country on Sunday night, blanketing Tekapo by early on Monday morning.
At Maryburn Station just south of the township, it wasn't enough to stop a gang of shearers finishing off the last of the season's pre-lamb shearing of 10,000 merinos.
For many farmers in the Mackenzie District, lambing season is just a few weeks away.
Up at Mt Hutt Ski area, staff were welcoming 20 centimetres of snow overnight, with drifts of up to two metres in some places.
And with the ski area hoping to remain open until mid-October, they'll be keeping their fingers crossed for a little more spring snow this September.
