A 30-year-old man has been charged with murder over the death of a two-year-old at Mangawhai Heads.
The man will appear at the North Shore District Court on Friday.
Police launched a homicide investigation after the death of the two-year-old on August 22.
Police were called to a property in the Northland town of Mangawhai around 8:15pm after the child died at the address.
The 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault on a child.
As the matter is before the courts, police had no further comment.
