Three people are dead after two drowning incidents on Sunday.
In Canterbury an 11-month-old drowned after falling into a water race at a Rolleston house around 4pm.
They were taken to hospital in a critical condition, but later died.
And a woman and a three-year-old died after she lost control of a tractor and drove into a reservoir in northern Otago.
A scene examination is underway at the Waihemo property.
