A fleeing driver fired shots at officers in a wild police chase across Auckland on Friday afternoon.

The chase began on the Southern Motorway and continued to Rodney, where it ended around 1pm.
Multiple offenders are now in custody.

No officers or members of the public were injured and police are not looking for anyone else.
Witnesses told Newshub they saw dozens of police cars in the area.
One witness counted 27 police cars passing Corinthian Dr around 12:20pm with sirens and lights flashing.
An ambulance followed close behind.
Police say more details will follow later on Friday afternoon.
