A teenage girl reported missing in Wellington has been found.
Violet Cowan, 14, was last seen wearing pyjamas on Monday.
Her disappearance prompted an intensive search of the wider Wadestown area, with police asking locals to check their own properties and spaces a person may be able to crawl into.
Just before 6pm on Tuesday, Violet was found safe and well in Wadestown, after which she was checked over by ambulance staff.
Sergeant Matt Wheble from Wellington Police has thanked members of the public for their assistance, which he says has been "enormously appreciated".
He also thanked Search and Rescue, Community Patrols New Zealand and Amateur Radio Emergency Communications (AREC).
