Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are set to tour Auckland on Tuesday, and the city council has the perfect gift for the couple's unborn child.
Auckland Council staff knitted woollen clothing for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's forthcoming baby. Mayor Phil Goff says two books will also be presented to the couple, titled A is for Aotearoa and A is for Auckland.
The Duke and Duchess have a full lineup of activities to get through while in Auckland, which will include gumboot throwing in Redvale, and dedicating an area of native bush to the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy.
The royals will also visit Pillars, the charity for children of prisoners, which the Government donated $5000 to instead of a wedding gift for the royal couple.
Pillars founder Verna McFelin will meet Harry and Meghan in south Auckland during their tour. She told Newshub it has been tough to keep the impending meeting a secret.
"The planning has been going on for about three months and we haven't been able to say anything about it. Now that it's starting to happen, we're all pretty excited about it," she said.
Fans of the royal duo will be able to catch a glimpse of them in the flesh during a walkabout at the Viaduct on Tuesday afternoon.
The royals have covered a lot during in their time in New Zealand since arriving on Sunday. On Monday, they met with mental health advocates in Wellington, where Prince Harry, 34, revealed his own struggles.
Their pair made a quick trip to Abel Tasman National Park in the South Island to speak with local iwi, before returning to Wellington to visit Courtney Creative for an evening event celebrating the city's thriving creative arts industry.
The Duchess, 37, was lauded for her speech on Sunday after greeting a crowd at Government House with tēnā kotou katoa," receiving a round of applause for her Māori language efforts.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern could be seen leaning forward to tell Meghan her speech was "perfect" as she returned to Prince Harry's side after the speech.
The royal duo will visit Rotorua on Wednesday before departing New Zealand on Thursday.
