Kiwi man Jarred Thompson, who was stranded in Fiji and in need of palliative care for his cancer, is back in New Zealand after a Givealittle page garnered enough funds to help him return home.
The Napier local was admitted to Lautoka Hospital on Thursday suffering pressure on his brain, which Fijian doctors said they could not treat.

"Our hearts are pounding. The outcome: we made it over safely on the plane. Praise God," an update to the campaign page stated.
"Thank you all for your prayers and donations and support. Jarred will be taken to Auckland Hospital now. We are so grateful to know he'll be in the most capable hands.
A Givealittle campaign was set up on Friday by his friend Thomas Brook, with a goal to raise $27,000 to fly Mr Thompson home.
The campaign raised close to $36,000 from 740 donors over five days before he was flown home on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, Mr Brook praised the medical teams who were transporting the cancer patient, as well as supporters who had donated money.
"We are all most relieved that Jarred is now in their expert care and finally on his way home! Thank God and thank you.
"Everyone who helped to make this a reality, ever so quickly, you have gone above and beyond."
The page states money will be used to pay the staff escorting him to the airport, New Zealand, and Auckland Hospital.
