After a week of rain and wind, weather which is "much more like summer" is expected across New Zealand, says MetService.
The last week has been a mish-mash of torrential wind, stormy rain and wintry snow that stranded students and cut off roads.

But with summer just around the corner, the weather should start playing its part this week, with MetService forecasting "fine weather and light winds" for most of the country.
"Make sure the sunscreen is handy, but keep a look out for afternoon or evening showers bubbling up over inland parts of New Zealand," said meteorologist Rob Kerr.
WeatherWatch has forecast some light showers across Eastern parts of the North Island on Monday, which could become heavy with thunder later on in the evening.
Northland is expected to get the highest temperatures, while Nelson should also get sun and pop into the early 20degCs.
On Thursday, several Westland students became stranded after heavy rain in the region closed a number of roads.
