A teenager has been remanded in custody after a Southland Boys' High School student was stabbed in the neck with scissors.
Detective Sergeant Sean Cairns says a 14-year-old male has been remanded in custody following the incident, which took place shortly before 2pm on Tuesday.
Another student was stabbed in the neck with a pair of scissors; his injuries were not life-threatening, and he is recovering well in hospital.
The 14-year-old appeared in the Invercargill Youth Court on Wednesday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police are still carrying out an investigation.
