Police say the body of a 17-year-old has been recovered after a vehicle went off a bridge near Whanganui on Monday night.
Police were called to Victoria Ave Bridge, near Anzac Parade after midnight to find the four-wheel-drive submerged.
A diver squad was called in to assist the search.
"Police can confirm one man was found deceased inside the vehicle," a spokesperson said.
"Indications are he was the sole occupant."
Enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information that may be of assistance.
