There are grave concerns for a teenage boy who is missing off the coast of west Auckland.
He was reported missing on Saturday afternoon at Whatipu Beach. Emergency services responded to a report that a teenage man entered the water and had not come out at 1:30pm.
A woman in her 20s was also in the water at the same time, but returned to shore and was treated by emergency services.
Local boats, emergency service vessels and the Police Eagle helicopter were deployed to search for the swimmer.
A search was called off late on Saturday night, and resumed on Sunday morning.
