'Horrendous attack': Police hunt trio after home invasion leaves Masterton man in hospital

A Masterton man has received horrendous injuries after being beaten in a savage home invasion.

Police are hunting for three young offenders, including two young women aged between 16 and 18.

The aggravated robbery took place at a Renall St home on Monday evening, when the offenders entered and assaulted three people.

A weapon was used in the brutal attack, which left two victims with facial injuries and one with bruising to her arms and legs. One of the victims was hurt so badly he required hospitalisation and surgery for facial injuries.

"Members of our community should be safe and feel safe in their homes," says Detective Senior Sergeant Haley Ryan.

"We want to find the three people responsible for this horrendous attack and hold them to account."

The male offender is described as skinny and tall (around 177cm), and in his early 20s. He was wearing a grey face mask.

Both of the female offenders were aged between 16 and 18.  One had shoulder-length black hair and the other had shoulder-length brown hair, possibly with a little bit of purple through it.

"There will be people in our community who know who these people are, and we want to hear from you," Det Sng Sgt Ryan says.
