A passenger has been removed from a flight at Auckland Airport due to a security threat.
Police were called to the airport at around 8:45pm on Wednesday night after an incident, a police spokesperson confirmed.
A passenger made a "threatening comment" while on-board, which was reported by another passenger, the spokesperson told Newshub.
The Air New Zealand flight was heading to Sydney from Auckland's international airport.
An Auckland Airport spokesperson originally told Newshub the plane was mid-flight and had to make an emergency landing due to the incident.
The spokesperson later clarified that the plane was stationary on the tarmac at the time.
Police said the passenger has been removed and is likely to be charged.
