Thousands are turning up to Wellington's Westpac Stadium for Te Matatini this week, the largest display of Maori performing arts on the calendar.
Te Matatini National Kapa Haka Festival runs for four days from Thursday to Sunday and showcases the best of what this country has to offer.
Kapahaka expert in Maori weaponry and Haka, and one of the 39 judges at the festival, Paora Sharples, spoke to The AM Show.
