The fire that broke out in a forestry block near Picton Airport is now reportedly "under containment".
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson told Newshub that a rural unit had been sent away, which means the blaze was "hopefully in hand."
At 3:10pm the fire measured an area of 10 hectares
It broke out on Thursday afternoon, and crews from Picton, Blenheim and Rarangi were sent to battle the blaze.
Despite the fire being more controlled, there are still 4 helicopters and multiple ground crews in attendance.
