Two people have been arrested and charged in relation to a Dunedin homicide.
A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder and a 30-year-old woman has been charged with being an accessory to murder, Detective Inspector Shona Low says.
It comes after a body was found on Steep Hill Rd north of Waitati on February 18.
The pair, both from Dunedin, were arrested in Rotorua on Wednesday. They are due to appear in the Rotorua District Court on Thursday afternoon.
The victim was known to the two accused and police are not searching for anyone else in relation to the incident.
Detective Inspector Low says the body is severely decomposed and police are still formally identifying the victim.
Police have located the dark blue 1995 Toyota that was driven from Dunedin to Picton on the morning of February 5.
It was found in Picton but police would still like to hear from members of the public that may have seen the van.
Police do not have any information to suggest it was gang or drug-related. They also can't confirm if the pair are in a relationship.
Members of the public with any information are urged to contact police on 03 471 4800.
