A relatively weak earthquake in Wellington has reportedly been felt by over 5000 people.
Geonet reported the 3.6 magnitude quake hit at around 7.46pm tonight and over 5000 people had reported to the site they had felt it.
Residents also reported it on Twitter with one user posting "Weak that was one hell of a jolt Welly."
Another said: "Felt it in Raumati Beach, a bit of a bang then some weak shaking and a rumble. Went on for a wee while though."
