The man at the centre of a possible gang shooting in Auckland's Mt Wellington can now be revealed.
Thirty-nine-year-old Akustino Tae appeared in Manukau District Court on Saturday, charged with attempted murder. He surrendered himself at the Manukau Police Station at around 12:30am.
Tae allegedly shot Killer Beez gang member Josh Masters at a Harley Davidson shop in Mt Wellington on Friday.
Masters remains in a critical condition in hospital with a reported chest wound. The firearm used in the shooting has also been recovered.
Tae has been remanded in custody until his High Court appearance on May 15.
