A Wellington man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 52-year-old woman.
The 30-year old was arrested on Friday afternoon after police were called to a "serious incident" on Lemnos Ave, Karori.
Police launched a homicide investigation after finding the woman's body, and say further charges are likely.
In court, the man was granted interim name suppression until his next appearance in the Wellington High Court on April 30.
The victim's details are also suppressed.
A scene examination is still underway at a property in Karori as police continue their enquiries.
They are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident, and have assured members of the public "there's no threat to their safety".
