Police have confirmed a homicide investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at a property in Karori.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder, and further charges are expected.
He will appear in Wellington District Court on Saturday morning.
Officers were called to an address on Lemnos Street at 1.10pm on Friday. The street has been cordoned off.
It is understood the house is close to land owned by the British High Commission.
Police said in a statement there is no threat to the community and the incident is isolated to Lemnos Avenue.
