A bus collided with a traffic light pole at a central Auckland intersection after the driver suffered a medical event.
At about 7:35pm on Wednesday evening, the City Link bus was making its way down Mayoral Drive when it mounted the kerb and crashed into the pole.
Police say no passengers have been injured, but the bus driver "appears to have suffered a medical event".
NZME reports the driver was carried out on a stretcher and was seen being worked on by paramedics.
The intersection of Mayoral Dr and Greys Ave has been partially blocked, and the public are asked to avoid the busy area while the Serious Crash Unit investigates.
The accident happened across the road from the popular Basement Theatre.
