An early morning earthquake has been felt in Blenheim and Wellington.
At 7:03am on Friday, a moderate magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit 5km south-east of Seddon. It struck at a depth of 12km.

More than 150 people reported the quake within minutes of it being recorded on the GeoNet website.
There have been multiple reports from residents in Wellington and one as far north as Bulls.
But most of the reports were closer to Seddon in Blenheim.
