A man has been remanded in custody on suspicion of stabbing Star the miniature horse.
The Dunedin man, 49, who has interim name suppression, appeared in the Dunedin District Court on Thursday facing charges of cruelty to an animal.

He will next appear on July 4 via audiovisual link.
Star's injuries were discovered on February 18, after a man walking past his Waitati paddock heard distressed noises.
He found a trail of blood leading down the road, which led him to Star, who had been untethered and stabbed 41 times.
