Two men have been arrested after several cars in Hutt Valley were damaged with a steamroller.
Police were called at 12:25 to Eastern Hutt Rd in Silverstream and found a man using the roller to damage parked vehicles.
He was arrested for endangering transport and for assault, and an an associate was arrested for assault.
Two people were injured - one hurt in the leg, another sustaining facial injuries after an altercation, police said.
The serious crash unit is investigating. The two suspects remain in police custody. A 47-year-old man will appear in Hutt Valley District Court on Saturday.
