Investigators working on the violent explosion which rocked Christchurch on Friday believe they have found the source of the blast.
Fire and Emergency Assistant Area Commander Mike Bowden says Police, Fire and Emergency New Zealand, WorkSafe and Insurance Council investigators have been working on the case.
"The cordon has continued to shrink down to be as close to the ignition source as possible," he told Newshub.

"We are strongly of the opinion that the event has occurred from somewhere in the kitchen. We have drilled down into that space, narrowed it down to that, so we're well on the way to determining the likely cause."
The blast in Marble Ct, Northwood turned one house to rubble, and damaged surrounding properties.
Six people were injured with the conditions ranging from critical to serious. Five remained in hospital as of Saturday with a range of injuries.
According to Stuff, a gas contractor was working in the house on Thursday, making repairs.
Bowden says Fire and Emergency will continue to "maintain a presence" at the scene to support the community.
