International media has jumped on news of a large explosion in Christchurch.
Six people were injured in an explosion on Marble Ct at about 10:15am.

Video from the scene shows a house completely destroyed and fire still burning as firefighters tried to control the blaze.
International wire news service Reuters quickly published a story on the incident from their office based out of Wellington.
The news made its way to Australia, with the Daily Mail Australia and Yahoo News publishing stories.
Further afield, Canadian publication The Globe and Mail, Channel News Asia and Indian Express also covered the incident.
Nobody was killed in the explosion. St John Ambulance said the conditions of the injured ranged between moderate and critical.
Cordons are currently in place, and police advise residents to follow any diversions or instructions from traffic control at the scene.
