A man has been charged following the theft of 50 Lime scooters in Christchurch between January and May.
A police spokeswoman told Newshub the 37-year-old man would appear in the Christchurch District Court on August 15, in relation to the theft of electric scooters between January 19 and May 29.
The Lime scooters are worth $37,500, NZME reports.
Police said no further information could be provided as the matter was before the courts.
His name has been temporarily suppressed having been granted a registrar's remand, NZME reports, and did not have to appear in the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday.
