Video has emerged showing the moment a police car forced a fleeing driver off the road and into a sports field in Hawke's Bay.
A Police spokesperson said the 27-year-old driver was wanted on warrants to arrest and a number of outstanding offences when he was spotted driving towards Waipawa from Pakipaki on Tuesday afternoon.

Police followed and the man failed to pull over, even when his vehicle was spiked. The chase ended in Waipukurau when he abandoned the car and fled on foot.
He was caught shortly afterwards and taken into custody. He will appear at the Hastings District Court on Wednesday charged with a number of offences relating to Tuesday's incident and others.
Video of the chase's end shot by a bystander was posted on the Facebook page "New Zealand Pigs", showing the car careening off the road and into a ditch.
A man narrates the video, explaining the fleeing driver was on his rims. A screeching noise can be heard when the driver comes into view as the wheels scrape on the ground.
Suddenly one of the police cars hits the fleeing vehicle on its side, sending it down a bank and into a sports park.
A loud bang can be heard as the car crashes.
