An eight-person brawl on a bridge in central Christchurch has left one person in hospital with critical injuries.
Police were called to the scene on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Hereford Street at about 3:30am. There were reports that about eight men were involved in the fight.
Three people were arrested and one person was hospitalised. Their injuries were initially described as moderate by police, but a St Johns spokesperson has since confirmed they are in a critical condition.
