The family of a woman who died after being dropped off at a hospital is pleading for answers.

Jasmine Wilson, 30, received what were deemed to be non-accidental injuries on July 31. She was left at Whanganui Hospital that day and died on August 2.

A team of investigators is working to determine the circumstances that led to her death, which is being treated as a homicide. Two different properties have been subject to scene examinations, as has a white Toyota Carib station wagon.

On Tuesday Wilson's mother, Brenda Reuben, issued an appeal for information.

"Our family is grieving and we are desperately hoping for closure," she says.

"Jasmine was a loved mother, daughter, sister and granddaughter. Her family and friends can't understand why this has happened to her."

Reuben says the family is no closer to understanding how her daughter sustained such severe injuries.

"No one should have to see a family member in the state we saw Jasmine in. She was unrecognisable," she says.

"There are people who know what happened to her. We are pleading with you to come forward and do the right thing."

Police have thanked those who have come forward with information about what happened to Wilson on July 31.

Anyone with more information is urged to call Police on 105 or anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
