Police have recovered a body near a west Auckland beach.
The body was reported to Waitematā Police around 7am on Tuesday, and was later recovered from the beach.
Area commander Inspector Mark Fergus said in a statement the body is yet to be formally identified, but it is believed to be that of a missing man police have been searching for recently.
The incident will be referred to the coroner.
