A homicide investigation has been launched after a 29-year-old man was found dead on a rural Canterbury property.
The man was found dead on Wednesday at an address on Gardiners Rd, Rakaia - which is located on the Canterbury Plains.
Police were called to the address just after 9am. The man had sustained an injury and died at the scene. The circumstances of the death are still being investigated.
A post-mortem will be carried out on Thursday while a scene examination continues.
