A man has been charged with murder following an incident in Christchurch.
Police say the victim, in his 40s, was involved in an altercation at a Wainui St property in Riccarton just before 9pm on Saturday.
They say he suffered stab wounds and was found on Clarence St a short time later, before he died.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder and a 38-year-old man has been charged with assault.
Police say they are now conducting three different scene examinations at Wainui St, Clarence St and Holland St, and are speaking to witnesses.
They aren't looking for anyone else in relation to the homicide at this stage.
The accused will appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday.
