Seven people have been rescued after a boating incident offshore of Stewart Island.
The incident took place shortly before 2pm, near Fresh Water Bay.

A police statement said all were treated for various levels of hypothermia, and two have been flown to Southland Hospital in a moderate condition.
Police would assist Maritime New Zealand to investigate the incident, the statement said.
