NIWA says the "world's strongest" high pressure system is moving over New Zealand, bringing fine weekend weather with it.
The country will see increasing hints of summer, as winter slowly fades away.

"It'll be cold in the mornings but means the afternoons will be nice," NIWA says.
MetService says the weather is looking nice throughout the country until Monday, when a front is expected to make its way along the West Coast of the South Island.
The national forecaster says this weather will bring a period of southwesterly winds, and above average rainfall in western areas.
A "spring front" later on Tuesday will leave a colder airflow for Wednesday and Thursday, WeatherWatch say, but luckily it will be short-lived.
"High pressure returns to New Zealand by next Friday and the final weekend of September."
