Embattled Christchurch councillor Deon Swiggs has released screenshots of Facebook and text messages in an attempt to clear his name.
A full investigation has been launched after Swiggs was accused of inappropriate contact with young people.
Swiggs said he felt he had no choice but to share the messages.

"In releasing these messages for context, I have taken extreme care to protect the identity of the complainants," he told reporters on Thursday.
Released messages include Deon Swiggs telling a complainant he is good looking.
Another is a gif of a woman with a caption saying "go choke on a d**k", but is followed up with a message saying "oops wrong one", followed by the gif he claims he was meant to send.
"These messages provide context around what has been reported as 'the sexually explicit meme' which was clearly sent in error," Swiggs says.
Christchurch City Council chief executive Mary Richardson said the investigator has found two complaints against Deon Swiggs were "material" and therefore required a full investigation.
Richardson said however three complaints had been dismissed, as they related to conduct against Swiggs outside his term in office.
A youth group first raised the allegations in May about inappropriate text messages from Swiggs, and a formal complaint was made earlier this month.
