SkyCity fire: Photos reveal extent of blaze's damage

Newly released photos have shown the scale of the damage, revealing a waterlogged and burnt disaster zone. 

The fire erupted on Tuesday and burned for nearly three full days. Firefighters let it burn through most of the roof before bringing it under control.

It's not known how long it will take to repair the damage and finish construction on the building, but Fletcher Building has vowed to complete the job.

The photos, released by Fire and Emergency New Zealand show abandoned construction equipment left sitting in water, while parts of the roof are caved in.

Safety nets are left collapsed or filled with debris.
