Fire and Emergency is warning people to stay indoors as the fight to contain the giant south Auckland industrial fire winds down.
The massive blaze broke out at the United Movers facility on Inlet Road in Takanini at around 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Fire and Emergency says 22 fire crews were called to the scene, and have now brought the fire under control.
"Crews will be remaining on-site over the next few hours to dampen hot spots," a spokesperson says.
"People in the immediate area should stay indoors, away from smoke."
Video taken during the height of the blaze shows choking black smoke pouring up from the building.
The fire has caused traffic chaos during rush hour.
"Due to a large building fire, road closures are in place on Inlet Road and Waka Street in Takanini," Auckland Transport says.
"Please follow directions of emergency services on-site and AVOID the area if possible, as congestion is heavy in the area."
Harveys Real Estate Papakura says the smoke has frosted windows over meaning they can't see a thing.
There have been no reports of injuries.
