Civil Defence Minister Peeni Henare spoke to media on Sunday before heading to the West Coast to support recovery efforts.
The region has been struck by a weekend of severe weather. Henare gave an update on the latest damage shortly after 4pm at Christchurch Airport.
On Sunday afternoon, Henare will travel to the West Coast to meet with locals and assess what additional Government support is needed.
