A tropical cyclone expected to form over Vanuatu could be felt in New Zealand late next week according to forecaster MetService.
The cyclone is forecast to form west of Vanuatu this weekend.
The cyclone is forecast to form in the coming days as environmental conditions develop in the South Pacific Ocean and Coral Sea areas.
From there the cyclone could head down south to New Zealand.
MetService said in a tweet: "Current computer models suggest that affects could be felt around Aotearoa towards the end of the next week.
"There is a lot to happen before then but trust we will keep you up to date."
