Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield and Canterbury District Health Board chief medical officer Dr Sue Nightingale have given the latest update on New Zealand's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Saturday, health officials revealed a man in his 60s who recently arrived from the US had tested positive for the virus on Friday, after feeling unwell earlier in the week.
An Australian man in Wellington earlier claimed to be the seventh person diagnosed after travelling from France.
And three people on board a cruise ship berthed at Akaroa in Canterbury are currently being tested for coronavirus.
From midnight Sunday, everyone entering New Zealand will have to go into self-isolation for 14 days, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced on Saturday.
That announcement came after New Zealand's sixth case was confirmed.
