A person has been critically injured in an assault in central Auckland overnight.
It happened on Pitt St near Karangahape Rd, just before 12:30am.
Police found an injured man at the scene, who was then taken to hospital. Newshub understands he may have been pushed down some stairs.
A 28-year-old has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in Auckland District Court on Saturday.
