New Zealand has recorded no new cases or deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the Director-General of Health has revealed.
Dr Ashley Bloomfield announced the latest daily COVID-19 figures in a press conference from the Beehive on Tuesday afternoon.
It means the total number of coronavirus cases in New Zealand remains at 1497 - of which 1147 are confirmed and 350 probable.
Twelve more people have recovered from the disease in the last day, taking us to a total of 1398 recoveries - an increase that means 93 percent of Kiwis infected with COVID-19 no longer have it.
Two people remain in hopital - they are at Middlemore and North Shore Hospitals in Auckland, and neither of them are in intensive care.
There are still 16 significant clusters, Dr Bloomfield said - and while just four of these are officially closed, many of them have not had any new cases for between 14 and 28 days so are "on their way to being closed off as well".
There have been 2893 tests undertaken in the last 24 hours.
Later in the press conference, Dr Bloomfield said hospital visitor numbers would stay the same at alert level 2 when it comes to intensive care, maternity and the emergency department - just one person for each patient.
Other parts of the hospital can are allowed more than one visitor at level 2, however - but these people must visit separately.
Dr Bloomfield's latest announcement comes a day after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced New Zealand would be de-escalating its coronavirus response to alert level 2 on Thursday.
