Emergency services are responding to a building fire in an industrial part of Christchurch.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson told Newshub the building is on Watts Rd in the suburb of Sockburn.
Large plumes of smoke can be seen billowing out of the building and the smoke was visible from across the city.
Bystanders told Newshub the building is a furniture factory.
A Christchurch Transport Operations Centre spokesperson said people should avoid the area.
