A police officer who was injured after he and his colleague were shot in Auckland on Friday has been discharged from hospital.
His fellow officer Constable Matthew Hunt was killed during the routine traffic stop in Massey.
Hunt's colleague was recovering in hospital and was discharged on Sunday.
A member of the public who was hit by a fleeing car at the scene was also hospitalised, and a police spokesperson says it's likely they'll be released either on Monday or Tuesday.
Waitematā District Commander Superintendent Naila Hassan said during a press conference on Sunday the injured officer was "devastated" at the loss of his colleague and friend, but was grateful to be alive.
She also visited Hunt's mum earlier in the weekend and Hassan said she's dealing with "every parent's worst nightmare" - outliving their child.
