A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman at a Bay of Plenty property on Friday morning.
The 24-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear in the Tauranga District Court on Saturday via AVL, police say.
Police attended the incident, which took place at an address on Powell Rd in the small inland town of Te Teko, just after 11:15am.
The scene is still being examined by police.
Earlier, police confirmed a man had been arrested over the incident and was being spoken to.
"We are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident," police said.
Witnesses were being spoken to so police could "establish the circumstances" behind the death. A scene guard will remain in place at the property overnight.
