Two people have had a miraculous escape from death after their car lost control and plunged 50m down a bank near Raglan on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were alerted at around 1:35pm of a car going down a bank off SH23 at Waitetuna.
But despite crashing and rolling down around 50 metres, the two people in the car survived with only minor injuries.
A police spokesperson told Newshub a rescue operation was set up by Fire and Emergency, and the lucky pair were winched out to safety with the help of a helicopter.
Footage from the scene shows a large section of the fence demolished where the vehicle went through.
An emergency worker is lowered down via helicopter and brings a man up to safety. He's then lead towards an ambulance.
"They've been pretty lucky… two very luck people" a firefighter on the scene told Newshub. "Just minor injuries so far. Hopefully, they'll be alright."
