A violent fight broke out at a south Auckland market between nearly 20 youths on Sunday.
The brawl started at the Manurewa Markets on Maich Rd. Footage shows the fight beginning in a carpark and a number of people piling onto each other.
One person is seen jumping from a car onto the group of people, and a shoe and other clothing is also flung at the youths. This happens all while fists fly and people are shoving each other.
The person who appears to be filming the video is heard saying: "And this is why we don't live in south Auckland anymore."
The brutal footage was uploaded to Facebook, with one commenter calling the fight "yuck".
"How completely shameful! Bunch of idiots," another says.
"WTF is old Batman up to flying into the rescue," one says, referencing the person who jumped off the car. "He ends up getting laid out lol."
Police confirmed it responded to the fight at about 10:55am.
"There are varying reports on how many people were involved," a spokesperson says.
"There don't appear to have been any injuries and the group had left the scene by the time police arrived."
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
